The countdown begins as OnePlus 5, the flagship killer we have all been waiting for has now released its launch date to be June 20th this year, and you will be able to get your hands on one of these bad boys by June 22nd when they hit the stores.
That’s in line with previous launches, as the OnePlus One launched in April 2014, the OnePlus 2 in July 2015 and the OnePlus 3 in June 2016.
We don’t yet know for sure when it will be available to purchase in the UK, US or Australia, but Amazon India is listing it for June 22, so it’s likely to land elsewhere on that date too.
Either way, OnePlus has teased the phone for “Summer 2017” so we probably won’t be waiting much longer, especially as the company has stopped selling the OnePlus 3T already.
But if like us you cannot wait that long for a glimpse of the oneplus 5, the below image, leaked by OnePlus themeselves, show the front and back of the soon to be launched phone.
Looking an awful lot like the Iphone 7 plus, the image gives us almost a complete view of the back of the handset, showing off two camera lenses, with an antenna band running above them and a OnePlus logo below.
It looks to be made of metal, with curved edges, and in a tweet OnePlus has described it as “a continuous hard edge, refined over 3 years.” There are some unfortunate talks of the headphone jack being moved to the top of the handset. Sadly, we can’t see the bottom edge, so it’s impossible to say whether the port is gone altogether or not.
The OnePlus 5 is expected to come in a choice of grey, gold or black colours, like the OnePlus 3T. It’s is expected to be skinnier than Apple’s current flagship, though, with OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirming that it’ll arrive as the “thinnest flagship phone”.
With just 6 days to the big launch, we cannot wait to see what more there is to be discovered,
